2012 CHILLY CHALLENGE - A Great Way to Ring in the New Year!
If you're looking for an exciting, different and fun way to ring in the New Year, here's your chance. The 2012 Chilly Challenge! Members of Broken Spokes have participated in this event for the last 4 years. Based on the age of our bicycle club this brings the Chilly Challenge into the realm of a Broken Spokes tradition. And from the feedback I've received, this year promises to bring the largest group of Broken Spokes members we've taken to the Chilly Challenge yet!
So join us January 1, 2012 at 1PM, Northside Park in Ft Wayne for a refreshing 15 or 25 mile jaunt through Ft Wayne, followed by a hot bowl of Chili after the ride. Don't worry about the cold. No matter how cold it is, you won't be cold after the first mile, and there'll be plenty of other crazy people to ride with. And just to make you certain you're really not too nuts, we'll stop at Johnny Appleseed park a little more than halfway through the ride and watch the Polar Bears jump in the river. Its really cool! (and if you want, you can join them...although it'll make for a cool ride back to the finish.)
Let me know if you're planning to join us. We'll meet at New Hope and drive down together. If you think you might want to do the ride, but aren't sure about riding in the cold and snow, de-wimpify yourself and come anyway!

PS: There's no charge...I'm pretty sure they figure it'd be too much to get people out in the cold AND charge them...=>
